Lagos Must Maintain   Federal Capital Territory Status, Showunmi Tells Governor Sanwolu

The Converner of the Alternative Movement and a one time Spokesperson to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Otunba Segun Showunmi has enjoined the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwolu to ensure that Lagos maintain its federal capital territory status by maintaining absolute cleaness.

He made this suggestion today in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta, while congratulating the Governor on his 60th Birthday Celebration.

He noted that Governor Babajide's achievements are undeniable as the Governor begin the last lap towards the completion of his 2nd term in office.

The leader of the Alternative Movement  encouraged the Lagos number one citizen to take off the gloves and fix the environmental issues.

Commending the unrelented efforts of Hon Tokunbo Waha, Showunmi admonished the Governor to allow the work of Tokunbo Wahab be front and centre and top priority.

"We know our history of Lagos and we thank God for the development so far".

"The time is now to force compliance with the master plan in such a way that whoever comes after you will not need to apologise for trying to build a modern city".

He drew the attention of the Governor not to leave any stone in unturned by saying 'What must be pulled down should be pulled down down, what must be provided for the greater good of the people must be provided for the good of the people". Showunmi urged the Governor.

While appreciating the undisputable contributions of past Governor in the state, Showunmi said that Asiwaju started the vision, Fashola deepened the framework, Ambode drove it deeper into places that the poor live in, it is now on your shoulders to sanitise the built-up areas.

"Lagos must not be a mega slum. It is not a no man's land! It is a land for all persons who wish to live and strive in the biggest economic city-state in Africa".

While encouraging the Governor to Sparkle like a Diamond, he mentioned that the Governor is not bad for 60.
