Obasanjo, Adeoye Call Egba Indigenes to Make the City Elegant,Habitable


The former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo (GCFR) has called on Egba indigenes from all walks of life to explore the proximity of Abeokuta to Lagos in developing the city and making it conducive for visitors to live in.

The Elder statesman made this statement yesterday at the new year party and Thanksgiving service puts together by the Egba born Economist and Lawyer Dr. Gbenga Adeoye at his residence in Abeokuta.

Chief Obasanjo applauded Dr. Gbenga Adeoye for contributing his quota to the development of Egbaland, Ogun state and encouraged him not to relent in doing more.

The former President noted that he is also making efforts in ensuring that Abeokuta the capital city of Ogun state is habitable for people to dwell in.

While giving his thanksgiving sermon, Pastor Funmi Kushimo popularly called Apostle, charged all guests to have strong faith in the Lord as those who know God will enjoy the new year.

The annual new year party and Thanksgiving service is a yearly event by Dr. Gbenga Adeoye's family to appreciate the Almighty God for his kindness and grace throughout the previous year and thank him ahead of what he will do in the new year.

In his vote of thanks, the Egba born economist Dr. Gbenga Adeoye thanked  Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and all guests for creating time to come, quoting Chinua Achebe he described their coming as not because they have no food in their respective houses but a show of love.

While urging everyone to be kind-hearted in the new year, Adeoye admonished all Egba indigenes to make Egbaland, Ogun State and Nigeria a better place to live in.

Relaying the new year message from God, Dr. Adeoye said that God revealed to him and his household that 2025 will be a year of the Manifestation of God's Power and Glory, while noting that the way God will lift people up in 2025 will surprise all men.

Mrs Kemi Adeoye who is known for being meticulous and hospitable ensured that all guests were well attended to, as they enjoyed the rhythmic sound by a gospel music artist.

This year event was attended by great men and women from religious, political and economic sectors.
