Segun Showunmi Urges President Tinubu To Pay Gov Dapo With the Same Coin

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and an aspirant in the just concluded election in Ogun state, Otunba Segun Showunmi has reacted to the trending video showing Local Government council chairmen prostrating to greet the Governor of Ogun State over the recent allegation by one Hon. wale Adedayo, calling on President Tinubu to frog jump the Governor.

Segun Showunmi in a statement made available through his media office said that it is culturally right to greet the governor, but he frowned at the body movement of the Governor whom he portrayed as an Emperor.

In his exact words, he said "Dapo Abiodun who does not seem to get that any governor worth the title ought to know that tier of government, Local Government cannot be so treated especially when the issue might be related to Wale Adedayo’s Open Letter on local government funds".

Reacting to lack of professionalism on the part of the department saddled with the responsibility of managing  information Showunmi asked "Who debased the government by recording such, and who irresponsibly released such, who approved without vetting to notice that the irritation of the governor was on full display and has far-reaching image challenge not just for the shameless governor but for all of us".

The former spokesperson to Alhaji Atiku Abubakah who is fond of beaming light on the inappropriate behaviour in the society urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to conduct full investigation into the allegations.

"You must use your office to encourage appropriate conduct, recall that I reported this same Governor Dapo Abiodun to you when his thugs attacked me" Showunmi added.

He posited that if a governor can treat local government chairmen in such a manner, it follows that as president you should subject him to frog jump, so they get the argument on independence.

Although, Hon. Wale Adedayo alleged the Governor of with-holding local government funds in a letter written to the former Governor of Ogun state, Chief Olusegun Osoba had also written to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission to investigate the Governor.

The Governor of Ogun state, Gov. Dapo Abiodun in another video has vehemently debunked the allegations and that there was never a time he ever removed from Local Government funds.
