The Spokesman to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 2019 general elections, a cultural ambassador per excellence, Hon. Segun Showunmi has described the death of Chief Jimoh Aliu a.k.a Aworo as a great loss and that his exit will cause major setbacks in upholding cultural values among the Yorubas.

Segun Showunmi who met with Chief Jimoh Aliu sometimes in February at Abeokuta acknowledged that Yoruba and cultural leaders should devise a veritable means of transfering and transmitting cultural values from one generation to another, which will invariable help in the preservation of such values.

Recounting Chief Jimoh Aliu's role in Arelu and Iku Jare Eda, Showunmi told the theatre Icon that he interpreted the script well that it is difficult for average children to erase the character from their memories as they grow older.

The meeting which lasted for about 1hr: 15 minutes took into consideration workable strategies to be adopted by the Yorubas to ensure that more worthy leaders are raised to take over the baton of leadership from some elders who are at their exit points.

Showunmi who specifically enjoined Chief Jimoh Aliu to ensure that many young ones drink from his pool of cultural knowledge and experience, which to him is the only way to give the Yoruba race its rightful place in the scheme of things all over the world.

In his release, the political analyst opined, "My privilege of meeting Chief Jimoh Aliu left me with great admiration for him as a cultural icon, a traditionalist of the old order. His world view was humanist, the preservation of the Yoruba Culture was very close to his heart. He lived his belief passing subliminal messages through the genre of theatre,  where playing the role of Aworo, he expose the virtue of good over evil. We must be grateful that he died peacefully, and has gone the way of the elders. May he be received in the afterlife and granted a place of honor. Odigba Ose Aworo oko Orisabunmi".

He, therefore, prayed that the Lord will grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
