Showunmi Tells Tinubu to Reward El-Rufai to Avoid Yoruba Being Tagged As Betrayer
A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and gubernatorial apsirant in the 2023 election in Ogun state, Otunba Segub Showunmi has called the attention of the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to his decision to edge Nasir El-Rufai out of his administration on the account of the Senate report. In a statement issued in Abeokuta titled "This madness must stop", Showunmi pointed to the role played by Nasir El-Rufai during President Tinubu's electioneering campaign and posited that he deserved to be compensated against all odds. Speaking about the ridiculous position of the Senate, he said that the entire Senate members are the loyalists of the President and it is an unexcusable excuse to deliberately edge Nasir when the President can ensure the validation of his appointment.
