I observed since APC Presidential Candidate have been declared as President-Elect, both learned and educated Nigerians have written and openly expressed shocking opinions that is far from the law. The most worrisome of this development is that Senior Advocates of Nigeria were part of those who misinterpreted the provisions of section 134 of the Constitution. To my surprise, some even said, reading section 299 is not necessary when clearly the beginning of the Constitution subject all laws to the provisions of the Constitution where it stated clearly in section 1(3)that the Constitution is supreme and that any other law that is inconsistent with the Constitution is void. Showunmi Calls for Unity In Nigeria, Says Election Is Not War

The leading Peoples DemSegunocratic Party figure who contributed immensely to Hon Oladipupo Adebutu campaign after the live programme where they both settled their differences, Otunba Segun Showunmi has called on Nigerians to refrain from pinching one tribe against another. Otunba Segun Showunmi, the Otunba Owagbemisoye of Idoani made this statement today after casting his vote at his Itoko ward 6, opposite Itoko town hall in Abeokuta, Ogun state. He said that this is a civilized society and negative utterances against a major ethnic group in Lagos should be frowned at because we are one people, one nation. The long time feud between the two political stalwarts in Ogun state, Otunba Segun Showunmi and Hon. Ladi Adebutu was yesterday brought to an end as Hon. Ladi showed up at Otunba Segun Showunmi palacial residence with his follwers to honour the lunch invitation extended to him. Ladi Adebutu who arrived at Otunba Segun Showunmi residence at the Government Reserved Area of Abeokuta some minutes to four in the evening with his followers were warmly received by Otunba Segun Showunmi and his teeming followers. The two politicians entered into a close door meeting to harmonize their thoughts and plans, the meeting which lasted for almost 45mins yielded positive results as they both came up with great optimism. Adebutu Swallows Pride, Reach Out to Segun Showunmi on a Live Broadcast

Hon. Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party has appealed to Otunba Segun Showunmi to join hands with him to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state. Hon. Adebutu made this plea during a consolidated top four radio stations interview put together by Showunmi Media Team involving Fresh, Splash, Smash and Rockcity FM today in Abeokuta. He called on well meaning Ogun indigenes to help appeal to Segun Showunmi and his followers as all players must be on board for electoral victory to be a reality. The son of Baba Ijebu who phone in while the programme was on cannot hide his readiness to work with the former Spokesperson for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as majority of his followers are now in Governor Dapo Abiodun's camp. Showunmi assured Ladi Adebutu that he will do everything humanly possible to give Adebutu his utmost support now that he has reached out to him.

An end seems to have come to the long time political feud between Otunba Segun Showunmi and Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu over who is the original candidate and gubernatorial flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state coming election. The ray of hope came today while Otunba Segun Showunmi was featuring on a simultaneous multiple radio interview today in the city of Abeokuta. Adebutu who swallowed his pride to call in on the live programme appealed to all Ogun citizens to help beg Otunba Segun Showunmi to join hands with him to unseat the present Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state. Segun Showunmi who made his stand known on the programme said now that Adebutu has reached out to him, he will not hesitate to give him an enabling platform to emerge victoriously. They both agreed to have lunch at Otunba Showunmi's place tomorrow by 3pm.
